DOMINION HISTORY

The International Central Gospel Church – ICGC (New York) is an Evangelical, Charismatic Christian Church whose Headquarters is located at Accra - Ghana. The first meeting was held in a living room at 1111 Gerald Ave. # 5D by young faithful christian men who had barely settled in New York from Ghana. This meeting pioneered the International Central Gospel Church in North America in the late 1997 with membership barely reaching 7 adults. The pioneers galvanized faith through Christ, used the word of God as their cutting edge and the Holy Ghost as their touch bearer, took a giant step forward after their initial meetings in a living room to begin fellowship in a rented facility - the gym at Parkchester to be precise. In essence, the pioneers faith and efforts were spiritually rewarded ……. “Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18. From 1997 to 1998, the membership grew to about fifteen (15) adults in regular attendance. From here on the building of God’s church had begun. Ministerial doors flung open to the church and many ministers arrived to put their hands to the plow. The two years, 1998 - 2000 were challenging times in the annals of the church, but for God and the stead faith of some pioneers and a few faithful believers, it almost plummeted at one point as the birth pang multiplied. On April 3rd 2001, under the leadership of Rev. Emmanuel Owusu- Kyereko and pioneers, namely Rev. Prince Nyarko and Rev. Sadick Arthur, the Church was officially incorporated with the state of New York as a legal entity. The journey to a permanent place of worship was almost synonymous to the Exodus of the Israelite to the promise land. The years 2001 - 2006, the church relocated to several facilities which included public hall and churches. The period also marked a rise in membership and tenacious missionary efforts to establish branches. In 2004, the church, undeterred by circumstances rode on to host two major conferences which gave birth to church planting efforts. By the end of 2006, the church had directly helped to established branches in various cities of the United States such as New Jersey, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Currently ICGC North America operates in 12 States and in Canada. “Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end should greatly increase” Job 8:7 and “For who has despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the……..
